It is on number 6 cylinder and is used by the DME as a signal for the sequential fuel injection. Without a signal from this sensor, the DME defaults to semi sequential fuel injector firing. There is no noticeable difference between the two. Sequential uses a little less fuel and will give a tiny power increase.
