It is used to shut off the unloader relay's while cranking. There is a second tab on the E30 starter to allow this. Not the same tab as the black/yellow trigger wire. I am not sure if the E28 has this connection, I don't have any E28 ETM's handy. TD is engine rpm. It goes to the tachometer. Check the E28 wiring, probably this wire is in a small 3 connector plug on the side of the E28 DME connector. Same with TI, this is fuel injector opening time and is used by the cluster and OBC to determine fuel consumption. In the E28, this probably goes through the same 3 pin connector as TI ECU pin 29 is the vehicle speed input, it comes from the instrument cluster and tells the DME what the vehicle speed is.
